That Which The Future Holds is Greater. 2026
A collection of work inspired by devotion to the Ocean and environmental restoration. Collaborating with the intelligence of water and the organisms in the water. Motivated by the intensity of the effects of pollution and loss of species from industrial fishing, as well as the emotions of loss, paralysis, genocide. Trawling is like a genocide of the Ocean. We are living through destruction of peoples, and environments. However, despite the loss the Ocean also knows how to recover.
The intention in the work was to uncover how to come into coherence with the forces of recovery, and magnify what the Ocean already knows about surviving loss, creative solutions and care-taking the source of all life force.
Research and development took place with 1010 Art Platform art residency in Bahia, Brazil Feb 2026, through an immersion into the context of Afro-Brazilian ritual practices surrounding the sea; an awarded place withThe Ocean Advocate Academy in the UK, March 2026 developing work intended to inspire citizen science. Both deepened the enquiry, informing a body of work conceived as a gift to the Ocean.
Some of this work was exhibited at Tremenheere Gardens, Cornwall 11-13 September 2026
