Alice Coltrane said improvisation was the essence of life.
Her music has inspired these drawings. I listened to her to interupt my pattern of despair with the World. So, with her rivers of sound, rhythms new to me, I could distract my grief while intent on connecting to the Ocean. Meditating to Alice, and then the songs of Whales I allowed myself the freedom to improvise, and create from feeling. To trust where the movement is. Knowing, that using the image, I am investigating how to give to the Ocean. What I met was the divine forces of my devotion, the sea began to come alive as I deepend my commitment to uncovering the energetics of restoration, justice, otherworldly assistance, ancestral humility, and the forces at work in the intelligence of recovery, faith and hope.
