The discourse in my work is what I am listening to. A sense of investigation - observation and imagination, bridging the seen and unseen. I'm asking what is being revealed, in the study, in lines, or colour, and in awareness. But always back to observation.
And in the play, to and fro with imagination, is there a bigger intelligence and life force I'm in relationship with. I don't believe in just self expression. If I'm drawing a flower, that flower can start to influence my picture, and my feelings, enter my dreams, inform and inspire me. What force imagined that flower? It’s there, making the picture with me.
And, if everything has consciousness, and everything is interconnected, then what can we be open to? What solutions, new ideas, revelations can be communicated through art - or music - or making beauty, and can we start to use our art to enquire into greater ecological issues and sustainability, even very gently.
