CELEBRATING THE EARTH - since oct 2021, Chagford. DartmoorA community collective conceived in Chagford in Dartmoor to highlight local arts led environmental connection and action.
We started the 'Celebrating the Earth' events in the church to bring people together during COP in 2021, to hold decision making and decision makers in the light. However, we also wanted to highlight the good that individuals and collectives were doing in our own community to bring change.
The focus: beauty and positive action. Each event was to bring nourishment, to celebrate culture, to speak up about what is needed, to caretake our environment and each other, and to root ourselves in harmony with nature. Each event collaborated to involve the community and also the school children, building their foundation for community voice.
Our intention continues: to come together to feed our imaginations with comradry and new possibility. We acknowledge as a small collective, in community, we are the systems that can orientate systemic change.
